William Files(or File) and a Harding from Gorham or York, Maine were at the battle of Fort William Henry. They escaped the massacre and returned to Gorham. What was his position in the English Fort? In his later he was refered to as William The Old Ranger. By that referal, he must have been a ranger, but in whose regiment?
