Yes Lester, we had emailed off the forum but I wanted to post a public note for any other Aaron's out there.
Man, when I first read your post and you mentioned African-American ancestry I thought you were going to tell me we were related to Hank Aaron. Now that would have been cool.
Do you know if Bob Aaron as a mulotto (is that still an exceptable term?) was a slave or was he free?
So much depended (and still does I guess) on how you look. On my lines with native American ancestry I have found siblings where one was deported (in the trail of tears) and others were able to pass as white and then I found children who were denied education in "white" schools even though their parents were able to pass for white.
Yes it is an interesting world.
