Recently found your message, and I am directly related to a John ABARE(ABAIR, of Keeseville, NY.
John was born abt 1810 in Canada. He md. Calista (PARKER) also of Canada. To this union : Matila ABARE: born 1843, of Port Douglas.
Matilda (ABARE) md. Joseph Henry ROCK Sr.
His name was changed from DESROCHERS/DUROCHER (French for ROCK).
This line is buried in St. John's R.C. Cemetery in Keeseville. Have photos, newspaper articles, etc. for these were my maternal grandmother's direct decendants. Anxious to share info. Your distant cousin!
