Abbate, Paolo L. (1884-1973).

An internationally renowned sculptor as well as an ordained minister, teacher, and author, Abbate was born in Villa Rosa, Italy. He came to the United States in 1903 and worked in New York City. President of the International Fine Arts League and a member of the National Sculptors' Council, the Artists Council, Inc., and the Connecticut Artists and Writers Society, Abbate also founded the Torrington UNICO Club, an Italian American service organization.
