I am still trying to document the records for the Mayflower line which is through Joseph Abbey's wife Susannah Crippen / Grippen born Oct. 1781. I recently found Almira C. Hamilton on the 1880 Mendon, Ohio Census. It shows her as 77 and living with Reily and Almira McDonald as grandmother and her parents both being from New York.Page 196 of the book Our Heritage,A Time to Remember,shows that Polly Hamilton's daughter Almira married a McDonald, which would be the grandaughter as listed in the census. Hopefully this will bring us to the right direction for Aaron Abbey as Joseph's father as is suspected. I note the 1820 New york census shows an AAron Abbey in Coeymans which is where Almira was born- this could be a tie but I do not have access to the 1820 transcripts, just the notation at this time, the information is referenced as #NY320228 on page 120 of the census. Have anyone found documetation which would confirn the father of Joseph? Please let me know. My email has changed to purrznkitnz#aol.com if anyone out there can help. Thanks in advance.
