John Abbe/Mary Loring(Straight, Cropsey)descendants

Hi Abbey cousins. I am a descendant of John Abbey/Mary Loring. I am Jeff Abbey son of James Perry, son of Lester, son of Robert, son of Perry Oliver, son of Horatius, son of Thomas(#4), son of Thomas(#3), son of Thomas (#2), son of Thomas (#1), son of John and Mary Loring Abbey. I have some good basic info on all in this line but have quite a few questions.
It seems that John came from England about 1635. Is this date definite or is there some question on the year and the ship.?
One of my sources mentions that John's father's name was John but lists no mother or family prior. Can anyone help here?
About us-Horatius (son of Thomas4 and Ruth Bush Abbey)born 1795 in Enfield, Conn; was in the Oxford NY census in 1810; was in Wayne Twp, Erie County Pennsylvania in 1830; left for the "west" in 1854 with 3 children (Perry Oliver-15, Francina-19, and Eliza-20) after wife Martha Smith died (other children were Herman S-22 and Octavius-19). Horatius stopped in Kendall or Will County, Ill for about 1 year and then with others that had moved west headed for the area I'm in now(1855). The timbers and open water areas were already being settled but the group that included Horatius was one of the first on the open prairie. The family started farming immediately and here I am 148 years later.
I have noticed that the last names of Cropsey, Straight, Fitch, and Pratt families came to the area about the same time. My home town is named Cropsey, Perry O married Amelia Straight(from near Dunkirk Ny), and Francina married Rufus Straight( from Chautaqua County, NY ), BF Fitch married Eliza Abbey. Wonder if anyone has prior info on these people. It seems that the families may have known each other.
If someone is counting descendants of John Abbey this line has a lot. James and Lois have 33 (when the Gr Grand kids are counted).
I am sure there are some interesting family stories out there- hope to hear some of them. Years ago, I was shown a clipping of a newspaper article about an Abbey that spent one year riding for the Pony Express. I saw someplace that suggested that the mother, grandmother, or g grandmother of Lincoln's least favorite general (George McCelland) was an Abbe(y). I noiced that Thomas(4) Abbey was married to Hanna BUSH............you don't suppose.......... BUSH HMMMMMMMMMMM.
I really appreciate the comments that have been posted so far on this site. Looks to me like there are a lot of interesting Abbey relatives out there.
