Posted by: Jeff Abbey (ID *****7213) Date: February 07, 2004 at 10:22:31   of 242 According to some scattered family information including some information from the Family Search web site it appears that Civil War General George B McClellan was a Great Grandson of Rachael (Abbe) McClellan and Samuel McClellan an officer in the Revolutionary War. My information is scattered and some is conflicting. Does anyone have better information? If this is correct, does anyone have the info that would connect Rachael to Abbe ancestors in Connecticut? Rachael was born in Connecticut Ashford,Windham, 1838; married Samuel 3/1766 in Woodstock, Windham, CT according to family search. It would be nice for all descendants of John Abbe(y) to document this if it is true. May be another link to the past and the history of the USA. THANK YOU! Notify Administrator about this message?
