C. Loring "Doc" Grant, 96, of Manistee, died peacefully , Saturday morning, Dec. 3, 2005 at West Shore Medical Center in Manistee. He was born April 6, 1909, in Chippewa Lake, the son of the late Dr. Charles L. and Elfrinde (Abbey) Grant. He is survived by his wife, Grace; son and daughter-in-law, Charles L. "Bud" and Shirley Grant of Kewadin; daughter, Mary Lidtke of Alexandria, VA; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. There will be no visitation. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 11 a.m., at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Manistee. Final interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetary. The family suggests that those wanting to remember Doc, consider a gift in his memory for Holy Trinity Episcopal Chrch of Manistee.
