Hi again,
Do you know where your William was born in New Hampshire? What were his kid's names (I'm attempting to establish a pattern).
As far as my Timothy is concerned he was born Mar 3, 1800 in Fryeburg Maine (right on the NH border). His parent's names were William Abbott and Anna Danforth, both were from Chatham NH. Other children:
- Jacob b. 22 Jul 1796
- John b. 25 Jan 1798
Timothy had another brother (likely half-brother) named Robert Mears Abbott born 1802 in Maine (I'm assuming "Mears" was his mother's maiden name). From Robert's obituary, I learned that the family moved from the States (possibly through Vermont) to Quebec and lived there between 1802 and 1817. After 1817 they moved to Long Point on Lake Erie. Robert Mears Abbott eventually moved to Carson City, Michigan in 1858.
As far as Timothy's father William is concerned, I am not sure of what became of him. Nor do I know where he was born. I am quite certain, though, that he was a descendant of Walter Abbott of Portsmouth NH, who landed in that place in 1640. He is definitely not a descendant of George Abbott of Rowley MA or George Abbott of Andover MA.
Does any of this information help or is it all just cooincidence?
Glenn
