Descendants of George
Abbott, of Rowley, MA, of his joint Descendants with George Abbot, Sr of
Andover, MA, etc;by Maj Lemuel Abijah Abbott;Vol I;1906;pg 16;
"Sergt. Henry Ingalls moved to Andover, Mass., 1653, and was m. there by "Mr
Bradstreet," July 6, 1653 to Mary Osgood, b. in Eng., prob. 1633.She d. at
Andover, Dec. 16, 1686, ae. about 53 yrs.He was a tanner.His will is
dated July 5, 1714, and was proved Feb. 16, 1718/19.Over 100 acres of land
were divided among his 12 chil.His son James who m. Hannah, dau of George
and Sarah (Farnum) Abbott, was given the homestead and charged with the care
of the wid.(Osgood, Gen. Reg., etc.)He was juror, 1690-1; constable,
1669, 1675, and highway surveyor, 1672.(t.r.)"
I also have that this same Henry Ingalls married 2nd, Sara Farnum Abbott Aug 1, 1689.This info is from a book on Laura Ingalls Wilders' genealogy.... Little House on the Prairie.It says nothing about Henry having a son named James, nor does it have any infor pertaining to Farnum.
I believe this info is from the book by Lemuel Abbot
The Hannah Abbot who is the daughter of George Abbot and Hannah Chandler is as follows:
HANNAH ABBOTT, b. 09 June 1650, Andover, Essex Co., MA; d. 02
March 1740, Andover, Essex Co., MA.
If this info is correct on both parts, there should not be any reason to confuse the two.
There is some information on the Wilder website that will corraborate this information, however, it is not my line, so I have not verified it.
