I am Melba Ables Halbrook and I live in Belzoni, MS.I have been studying The Abell Family in America in my search for Joseph Abell.I have just reas your message and have found one Joseph Abell who went to Virginia and was listed as one of the children of one of the Samuels in Maryland. My family line that left South Carolina: Ezekiel Abell born 1780 went to Lincoln County, TN; then to Fayette County, Alabama in the last part of 1810 and the first part of 1820 and part of 1830;then to Leake County, MS in 1840; then to Attala County, MS in 1850; then to Holmes County in 1850.
My problem is that there are Ezekiel Abells in MA and CT, as well as those in Maryland and Virginia. The family names are the same. Now:Which Joseph is mine?
I have so much "stuff" printed out that I think I will just repaper my house with all of it.
Are any of you having my problem, too?
I will be happy to share the more than 50 pages of Holmes County and Humphreys County (where I live) information on the Abell family (my personal family )has changed the spelling to Ables. My e-mail is [email protected] and I will be delighted to hear from any of you interested in the Abell family.Melba
