John Birley abernethy 2/21/09
Dear John,
This is very exciting to have finally found connections to my great grandmother,Annie Abernethy, but more importantly to my father.
Briefly,I was born in Tamworth in 1962.I currently live in Ballina where I work as a High School Special Education teacher.
I have John Clarks and Annie Abernethys marriage certificate. They were married in Tamworth,21st Oct 1889.The witnesses were John Abernethy and a Jessie Abernethy.
John and Annies son,my grandfather was Robert Abernethy Clark born Dec 1892 Hanging Rock(near Nundle)NSW.
Incidently my father,Austin John Clark named his only son,John Abernethy Clark.
According to my grandfathers birth certificate, his mother is recorded as Anna Hamilton Abernethy,31 years old and birthplace Glasgow.John Clark(without an e)is recorded as the father,30 years old, birthplace Hanging Rock NSW and occupation, miner.
It was news to me that John Clark was a miner.I remember my father telling me that John and Annie ran the general store at Hanging Rock and also that Annie was a school teacher.
I have never seen a photo of Annie, nor do I know anything about the Fulton family.
Are we long lost relatives?
I hope to be in contact with you.
Regards,
Maryanne
