Charlie,
I got this information from the Gaston-Lincoln Libray Live on line which is under Heritage Quest. It has census records, books, publications and Revolution War records. It is available in N.C. but I don't know about other states. You could call your library and see. They will give you a password and you go under your local library website. It is under N.C. Live (this is why I don't know if other states have it or not) and then click on Heritage Quest.I think I typed in Abernethy's Ferry in Mecklenburg County and was given several book choices.I found the History of South Fork Association and was amazed at how many pages of Abernethys, Forneys, Rozells, Johnstons, etc. were listed.Mr. Graham that wrote the book I am sure is a descendent of the Grahams of Lincoln County, N.C. that was a governor of N.C.As long as you state the source, I don't know why you couldn't use this book. As for James Abernethy, I took that comment as him being very heavy.I have more I am posting from this book.
