Hi Mary,
My name is Madeline Patricia (Abramoske) Stuart and I am a member of the Long Island "Abramoske" branch of the family. My grandfather, Joseph ("Joe") Abramoske, was one of 13 (I think?) children of Frank and Elizabeth Abramoske. Joe farmed in Melville and then St. James, NY with my father Richard Bernard Abramoske. Joe passed away from a heart attack at the age of 51 and my father passed away from a heart attack at the age of 31 in Nov. of 1960. My grandfather married my grandmother Gloria (real name was Fanny)and they had two children, my father and my Uncle Donald J. Abramoske who is retired and lives in Tuscon, AZ with my Aunt Myriam; they had five children: Gloria, David, Gina, Tanya and Stephanie. My parents, Richard and Madeline Martha Stockert (of Farmingdale), married in Jan. 1951. I was born in 1955 and my brother, William Joseph Abramoske, was born in 1957.
At the moment I can only think of a few of my grandfather Joe's siblings: Anna, Helen, Libby, Agnes, Alice, Anthony and Vincent. I'll have to ask my mother about more of the family history. But I think she did say that my father's Uncle Tony and Uncle Vinnie farmed in NJ.
I've always wanted to look into my father's family history and know that I must have a lot of cousins out there! Please contact me if you like!
