I just started trying to compile a family tree, and I need some help getting started on the Abshier side of my family who were mostly from Liberty county, TX. My grandparents were Oliver Huel Fontenot and Ida Cora (Abshier) Fontenot. Her parents were Edmond Abshier who was born in 1883 and Sallie (Dowdle) Abshier who was born in 1891. Their other children were, Mamie (Abshier) Stanley, Buelah (Abshier) Brandon, Lester Abshier, Lawrence Abshier, Elmer Lloyd Abshier, and Walter Abshier. Edmond also had a son from a previous marriage, Charlie Abshier, and he may have had a daughter from that marriage as well. The fartherest that I have gotten is my great-grandparents Edmond and Sallie, and would appreciate any information about who their parents were or any other relevant information. Thanks!
