Hello Rex

I am related to the Ace family from the Gower. Samuel Ace (b 1791-4? d1862. He was a seaman and Pilot. Samuel married Sarah ? b 1793-6? d 1873 Pilot Inn, Mumbles. They had Thomas b 1817 married Emma Grace Nott b 1816? Tor. Devon, Samuel b 1820 d 1879 m Margaret b 1828? Oxwich d 1896. Sarah (my line) b 14 August 1824 christened 3.9.1824. married at St Mary, Swansea, Mr Reuben Guy. She was a widow by 1858. In 1860 she married for the 2nd time Mr James McGihon. Sarah kept the Pilot Inn, Mumbles. From the 1st marriage she had William b 1851, Margaret b 1853, Reuben b 1856? Ellen b 1858 (my gt grandmother) and from the 2nd marriage she had James McGihon b 1864.
I have other information about the children from Thomas Ace and Samuel Ace. Most of the information was sent to me my the Swansea section of the Glamorgan Family History Society, some years ago. (via Mrs Wendy Cope)

I also have in my folder information given to me by Barrie Diamon who had traced all of the Aces from Buckland Brewer in Devon 1657-1687 through to marriages at the Gower 1681 etc.

Also over the years I have been in touch with many people researching the Aces from the Swansea area e.g. the Lighthousekeeper Abraham James Ace.
