PA Ace research help for a "beginer"- me!
First let me start off by saying this isn't Kimberly, it's Steve.Second - how I fit in:
What I have gathered so far from my grandfather (who has some documentation and should be sending it soon I hope):
Me (Steve French Jr)
Mom is Kendra Ace [m-Stephen French]
Kendra's father is Robert Fredrick Ace [b-12/25/1924 East Stroudsburg, m-Marylin Layport]
Robert's father was Frederick Kline Ace [b-8/27/1906, m-Bertha Bago, d-?]
Frederick's father was Robert Henry Ace [b-10/10/1865, m-Minnie Menner, d-?] - Not sure about siblings.
Robert's father was Samuel Michaels Ace [b-11/29/1840, m-Mary Elizabeth Heller in Stroudsburg (1868), d-?] - Not sure about siblings.
Samuel's father was Simon Ace who was married to a (Anna)Margret Michael(s).Samuel also had a brother - Abraham.
Being a beginer at genealogy - I could use and would GREATLY appreciate any and all help with this line of ancestry. Not looking for handouts (although they too will be greatly appreciated), just good references and nudges in the right direction.
My grandfathers side of the family are all from PA and he says all from the Monroe Co. area (Monroe, Bucks, Northhampton, etc.)
I plan on filling in documentation once I see what I get from my grandfather.
I have read the message boards here, at rootsweb, and at ancestry.com for surname Ace, Pa state, and applicable counties.Based on my observations thus far and the information my Grandfather has given me - my ancestry would go back to Goerg Oest/Ace.Am I looking at the right Ace line here or not?If not could someone point me to the correct Aces please.
Thanks in advance,
Steve
