>My name is John Joseph Ackermann
How strange; so is mine.
> and I am a descendent of a Brooklyn Ackermann family.
As am I.
>My paternal Grandparents were Joseph John Ackermann b. >Aug. 15 1886 and Barbara Metzner b. Nov 4 1882 d. Oct 30 >1920. They had five children Mary, Barbara, Margret, >Joseph John and John Joseph b. Sep. 7 1920 d. Nov. 13 1957.
Strange again; my father's name was John Joseph, though I don't remember him having a brother named Joseph. He did have siblings named Margaret, though I don't remember a Barbara.
>After Barbara Metzner passed my grandfather Married a Mary >Baier.
My paternal grandfather would have been this John Joseph as well, though I don't recall any stories that he ever remarried.
>I have been told that Mary Baier and Barbara Metzner were >related but I cannot confirm the relationship.
>I was told that my grandparents lived with her parents at >the John Metzner Funeral Parlor on Atlantic Avenue in >Brooklyn. Later for health reasons they moved to >Connecticut.
This doesn't strike a note with me.
>I have no knowledge of my grandparents ancestry. I heard >of a Uncle Henry presumably my grandfather's brother.
My *father* had a brother named Henry (Hank).
> Any information would be greatly appreciated.
What is *your* father's name?
