Hi Russell and Shelley,
I am an Ackermann descendant as well, through the Eva Ackermann( 1860- 1936 )from Hill End. A number of cousins have been linked through the SBS Australian tv show "Who Do You Think You Are?" featuring a famous Australian celebrity, Maggie Beer, on October 25, 2009. Maggie was an Ackermann and she has a website where we can all connect if you are interested.

Michael Ackermann and his life story was featured on the show. His cottage at Hill End has been restored by an Ackermann descendant and is a beautiful memorial to the family.
