I checked the 1850 census today and found David and Lucinda Ackerson living in Roxbury, Washington, Ohio. The following were living in the household.
David age 27
Lucinda age 26
William age 7
Dorothea age 5
Joe age 3
John age 2 months
James age 22
David and James were listed as laborers and there was a note that Lucinda could not read or write. They were all born in Ohio. Since John was only two months old I am assuming he was born in Roxbury. It was also interesting since I had his birthdate as Mar 1951 which was obviously wrong. Funny since that is what is on his headstone.
The census had very limited information and lacked a relationship column. I am assuming James was David's brother and will continue to try to verify this. I hope to search the 1840 census in the near future and see if I can find parents of David living in Washington Co., Ohio. There were also several Ackersons in Clark Co., Ohio. So I plan to look both places.
