Well, let me see. I haven't been working on the Ackles very long. And maybe that's the problem. However, I think I have made it back to about 1810 with James Ackles. I think he has a brother named William. Not sure about this though. This line is very illusive. My problem is that James and Elizabeth Rader, who's marriage shows up in August 11, 1831 of Highland Co. Ohio. This information can be gotten at the Family History Library: Film #s 0570612-0570614 if anyone is interested in this.

James and Elizabeth had these children according to the 1870 Marion Township, Grundy Co. MO Census.
George age. 17 b. abt. 1833 taken from the census
Margaret A. age. 16 b. abt. 1836
Mary A. age. 14 b. abt. 1838
Louisa age. 12 b. abt. 1839
Sarah age. 11 b. abt. 1840
James H. age. 9 b. abt. 1841(1843) grave site marker says this)
Elizabeth age. 7 b. abt. 1843
Kerza (this one was very hard to read!) born abt. 1844.
All of these children were born in Clay Township. Highland Co, OHio.
James H. Ackles married a Palithia Alliga (nothing is known of her. I am also wondering if James married a second time because Tabitha Street is mentioned as marrying James Ackles of Highland Co. Ohio.
They have these children. William Street, age 18 and at home. Mary Street age 14, Sarah Street age 10, Seddiah Ackles age 5 and then my great grandfather, Stephen D. Ackles at age 7/12. Stephen married Isabelle Rose Rhodes who was in Springfield Ill. or in MO. I can never remember which Springfield it is, I guess I will have to look when I can think better. I can't quite connect the George and the James except as brothers in the 1860's census. That's about it. There is a place in LaGrande Oregon that has James, Edith, Louisa and George's graves if anyone wants to go look. www.LaGrande I think anyway. Go into the Ackles cemetery and go look. It is a fasinating place.

I don't know if I have the right line. I don't know who James's father who was born about 1811 or there abouts was or anything like that. If someone doesn't mind and has this line I would like to look at it and get some information on it.

Thanks in advance,
Melody Roswell
