Hello. Are you aware that Dalton, Georgia is just across the line form Chattanogga(spelling may be wrong), Tenn? There were Civil War battles all over the area.
Someone in John Acrey's people buried their money during the Civil War and never made it back to claim it and it is said to still be buried in the mountains somewhere. That may have been on his in-laws side, but I do remember the tale. Also, John Acrey always spelled his last name that way with a y.
