By 1800 my branch of Acrees were in NC or GA. It is a difficult name to research. My Grandfather was also orphaned at age 3 and raised by his oldest sister, Delia.
Papa's father left his children in Georgia at the death of their mother. He moved to Texas to join his uncle and remarried. There are several Acrees from this union. He eventually returned to Georgia and is supposedly buried in Banks Co, Georgia. His oldest 4 sons, including my grandfather, are buried between Stephens and Banks County Georgia. Most of these lines are no longer in existence. By my Grandfather's generation, b 1894, girls started arriving and the name died out with each succesive marriage. My Dad is the last surviving male Acree in our line. He also had a girl, me. If you can give me any more names I might have some info that I stumbled across while searching my line.
