You and John Cabell Acree are descended from Ambrose Buford, son of Ambrose (1788?-11/7/1867) & Hannah Broaddus Clarke,M. 12/1/1853 at Smyrna Church, buried at Bruington church, K&Q,Va., along with my Edward Smith. I have only found an Ambrose Acre(Acrey)in the 7th Va. regiment, Continental Line, in the Revolution(Drummer-1777- and Private-1778)from a Voucher in 1784 under Lieut. Holt Richeson, and presume that he is the father, but have no proof. (Roll M-881-1019 National Archives). I made a couple of visits to K&Q to Bruington, Fleetwood(Jack, Biddy Walker, and brother) some years ago, as well as to my Dew ancestors homes and graves there.
