I am the great-great grandaughter of Jasper Newton Acree. My great-grandfather, Jasper's son James Elliott, died blind (cause unknown to me). My grandfather Lorin (James Elliott's son) did not have vision problems when he died at age 68, but his son (my father, Herbert Lorin Acree) has macular degeneration in both eyes. He is subsequently totally blind in one eye, and partially blind in the other.
