Hi Denise,
Paula Fields and I have done extensive research on our Acree relatives and connected our branches of the family tree. Every older generation tells the story of the Indian heritage but Paula and I have never found this elusive Indian. Yes Acrees are tall, broad shouldered, even the women, and have dark hair and slightly darker skin but there is no recorded history of an Indian connection. I have come to believe over the last 30 years of searching, it is a good story but has no basis in fact. It is possible but it is not recorded. Rebecca Acree, Stephens County Georgia
