SHAWNEE, Okla. ---
Carolyn Jean Scism, 62, of Norman, died Jan. 5, 2001, in Norman.
Carolyn was born July 29, 1948, in Nevada City, Calif., to Joe and Leta
(Flowers) Adams. The family moved from California to the Tecumseh area
when she was 8 years old. She graduated from Tecumseh High School in
1966. She married Maurice Lynn Scism July 1, 1966, in Romulus. She
worked as office manager for the family insurance business for the past
15 years. Prior to that Carol worked in a doctor's office. She also
served as the librarian at the Tecumseh Public Library. Carol loved her
family deeply and took an active part in their lives. She had the
natural ability to entertain; bringing laughter and joy to everyone she
came in contact with. She loved to decorate. Her heritage was very
important to her and she spent much of her time tracing her family's
genealogy. Carol's special companion was her beloved dog Sophie.
She was preceded in death by her father.
