Hello Cheryl, My wifes Great, Grandfather was Alonzo Adkins. But I don't think we connect. My Alonzo was born in 1874, and died in 1905. He was born in Honey Grove Texas and died in Sash, Fannin Co. Tx. He had 7 children, Emmett, Clyde, Freddie, Charlie Lee (named after Alonzos father), Linnie, Bessie, & Valeta. All born in Texas. I don't show any brother of Alonzo named Melvin. But let me give you some advice. I started looking Alonzo at least 15 years ago. When I started I just knew his name as "Lon" Adkins, then about a year or so latter I found him as "Lonzo" Adkins, then another year latter found him as "Alonzo" Adkins. Now he is buried in New Salem Cemetery
Fannin Co. TX, you can go to TXFannin GenWeb #: 035523 and look him up if you like, and it will show his Tombstone, and on the Tombstone it just says "Lon" Adkins. You didn't mention where your Alonzo was from or where he was born. You will need to list that to get more info. Scott Spencer
