Hello Barbara, my name is Scott Spencer. I have done some research on Adkins, (my wifes family). I don't know if this is the same "Jasper" or not but it could be I have Jasper Adkins born in 1870 (now see there is the rub, you said yours was born in 1888) but anyway my Jasper was a son of Charles Adkins and JoAnna Thorp. Now then Charles came from Tenn. went to Texas and died in 1914 in Ft. Worth. But Charles Granddad was Noah Adkins and he died in the War of 1812. As a result of that Charles and family got a "Bounty/Land" grant in "Arkansas". I don't know where Jasper was bn, or who he married, or where buried but Chales and family did live in Arkansas on that land for a while. I hope you can use this. Good Luck. Say have you tried going to the Ingram Genforum and plugging Jasper Adkins and see what pops up. Scott Spencer
