Just to be clear:My son Peter White saw records on ancestry.com saying that George W. Adolph was part of a family living in Beverly, Burlington Co., New Jersey, at the time of the 1900 federal census.Lilly is the head of the household and has three sons: Alfred W. (b. Sept. 1886 in New Jersey); Ellwood (b. Jan. 1888 in New Jersey), and George W. (b. May 1889 in New Jersey). In the 1920 federal census, there is an Ellwood C. Adolph, 31 (b. in New Jersey), living in Detroit, Wayne Co., Michigan, with wife Bessie M., 30 (b. in Indiana) and 2 lodgers. In the 1930 census, Ellwood and Bessie Adolph are in Washington, DC.Bessie is b. in 1892.The SS death index says Ellwood was b. Jan 1, 1888, and d. January 1965 in Washington, DC.The WWI draft index gives his name as Ellwood Connor Adloph and his b. as Jan 1, 1888.Data posted on ancestry.com about the Hickey family (I think this came from Justine Ball) gives the family of Lillie Mae Connor and George W. Adloph (married in 1883) and their three children Alfred, Ellwood C., and George W. (b. May 16, 1889 in Edgewater Park, New Jersey--he is the only one with descendants on that tree). My son (actually a step son) is conjecturing (but trying to confirm) that Lilly (or Lillie) Adolph married William Sherwood sometime after 1900 when they were widow and widower from earlier marriages. We would love any information on the descendants of Lillie Adolph and whether there is evidence of the Adolph-Sherwood marriage (or related information like burial plots).
