Smith Adsit married Margaret McCarn, both were born in the 1790s in NY.He was a toll gate keeper in Pamelia, Jefferson, NY in 1850.
Children included:
Philena Adsit born 23 JAN 1819 Canajoharie, Montgomery, NY
Eveline Adsit born 23 OCT 1820 Canajoharie, Montgomery, NY
Pamelia Adsit born abt 1828
Margaret Adsit born 18 FEB 1834 Canajoharie, Montgomery, NY
Phoebe A. Adsit born 14 JAN 1836 Watertown,Jefferson, NY
George Adsit born abt 1841
I have it that Eveline (called Adaline in one source) married Havens Wilber (rather than Hunens Wilber) on 04 FEB 1845 in Watertown, Jefferson, NY before moving in 1854 to Watertown, Jefferson, WI.
This family intermarried often. Philena married Chauncey Calhoun, Jr., and when she died he married her sister Margaret, who lived to be 100.
Philena Adsit Calhoun's daughter Pamelia Adsit Calhoun married Evelyn Adsit Wilber's son Charles Henry Wilber.
Philena named another daughter Sarah Eveline, presumably for her sister. Many names repeat... there is your Byron Wilber, Philena's son Byron Calhoun, and also a Byron Adsit whom I cannot place who wrote a brief biography of Chauncey Calhoun's brother John Calhoun of Chicago.
Hope this helps
Roberta D. Calhoun
