Jan;
What do you know about the Brooks family?Does Mariah have a sister named Mary A.? In Newman Ward, Sylvanus' son Henry Ban was married for the second time to her.They lived or at least he died at Fulton, N.Y. in 1910. Does that help?
Yes, the origional John is buried at a place called[if I remember right] Haggard Point at Old Lyme.When it was recorded the person taking down the information thought that Adsit sounded like Haggard for whatever reason.So far I've encountered 28 different spellings of Adsit.Makes for interesting research. It's really a shame that the 1880 census for Michigan burned up.
Its as tho Mortimer just disappeared. And yet there's that very large monument at Hack cemetery in Monroe County. Got any ideas as to how one would find sextons records for a cemetery that is no longer in use.?
Keep in touch. Sally
