The Kies surname is actually that of my first cousin's mother. It is also one of the surnames that helped start my genealogy obsession. My cousin has a compilation on the Kies surname that was put together by a Sr. Mary Concepta Kies. She had so many personal accounts in her research that really moved me. She went as far back as Luxembourg both in her compilation as well as actually going there. She has since passed on but her work continues. I have been trying to fill in the blanks that she had for a couple of reasons. The first being a sort of repayment for getting me interested in family history. The srcond is that I don't like works that are unfinished or incomplete. I have made wonderful e-mail contacts on the net that have been able to go even further back than Sr. Kies as well as forward bringing things more into the present.
I am more than willing to share with you what I have and compare notes.
