Taylor, I am surprised you have nad no takers in your message in these two years, but I am definitely interested. My father FBAgard wrote a book which he titled "Agards in America" in which your Erastus (A. for Aaron?) Agard born 1787 figures prominently, definitely descended from John Agard (commonly known as "John the Younger") born 1683.Little or nothing is known of John the Elder who would have been born about 1650.
However, the descendants of Erastus A. have been difficult to trace. We know a lot--we also have questions. For this reason I'd like to share your information, and hardly knowing where to begin, here is a start:I visited the cemetery in Smithville Flats, and it was in fact my finest genealogical moment, as I discovered on the back of the stone of Erastus and Sarah, the name Pharsalia Scott who apparently died in 1866 at the age of 43 .She had been unknown to my father, and it fills in a name on the list of their children as published on the web by Christine Harris. What was the "Scott"--a married name or a middle name, and can it be traced (to you, for example)?
Perhaps the next step is for me to give you some of my other questions, or, if your information is not overwhelming, tell me what you know with an eye to what I might not know. You can email me directly [email protected] am semiretired math professor at U Minnesota.
