Okay Beatrice, here is what I have from a book obtained from the Butler Area Public Library called "The Callen Chronicles". It was compiled by Callen Family researchers and typed by Edna M Callen McNellis:
"James Arthur Callen was born November 1, 1868 in Butler County, PA. The son of John and Mary Ann (Redic) Callen, John was about 10 years old when his mother died.
He married 1st in April of 1889 to Bertha Elizabeth Thompson who was born May 29, 1867. She was the daughter of Methodist minister, Warren Thompson and Almira (Aggas) Thompson. She was orphaned at a very young age. She died around 1907-08 and is buried in Potter's Field in Mt. Vernum Cemetery, Butler County, PA (North Washington)
James worked at the Pendrake Oil Refinery. He liked farming and hunting. After Bertha's death James married "Fanny" Francis Rupp.Fanny was born March 11, 1884 in Boggs Twp, daughter of George and Elizabeth (Cochran) Rupp.
James died May 2, 1947 and is buried at Belknap Cemetery on or near Route 66 North of Kittaning near Templeton, Armstrong County, PA

Obit of James A. Callen:
Funeral services for James Callen, who died Friday morning at Armstrong County Hospital following an illness of several weeks , were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock in Templeton Methodist Church.
Services were in charge of Rev. Walter Kennedy and Rev. H.F. Pollock. The church choir sang "Some Bright Morning" and "Good Night and Good Morning". Burial was made in Belknap Cemetery. Casket bearers were James Aharrah, W.J. Reedy, Harry R. Bowser, Ralph Hopper, S.E. Wagner and Charles Cochran."
There is a picture of James and Bertha Elizabeth Callen and I will attempt to scan for you and send to your e-mail address. I hope it turns out good enough to see. I am sorry, it is a xerox copy, so don't know how well it will re-produce for you.
We were curious as to who ended up raising Bertha Elizabeth after her parents died. We also have no clue how they died, do you? Which Callen child do you descend from? Hope some of this helps.
