Agosti - helpful links

I have put much of the information below in various replies, but thought I would share it in its own post. These are some helpful links for searching for Agostis in general, and particularly in the Val di Non area of Trentino

First, birth records for anyone in Trentino between 1815-1923 can be found online at:
http://www.natitrentino.mondotrentino.net/portal/server.pt?open=514&objID=23739&mode=2

For Val di Non, a genealogy project for the Bertganolli family from Fondo (south end of Val di Non) is an invaluable source IF your ancestors come from 6 villages they list. Here is their homepage:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~bertagnolli/
There are 1,067 Agostiís in the section from Preghena and Livo(!)
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~bertagnolli/progen2/livo/index.html

If you do find someone, you can trace back paternal and maternal lines. These are is basically ALL of the records that can be found in the Mormon Family Heritage microfilm records for these areas.

Additionally, the Ellis Island website lists the arrival of many Agosti's from Italy.
http://www.ellisisland.org/search/matchMore.asp?LNM=AGOSTI&PLNM=AGOSTI&last_kind=0&town_kind=0&ship_kind=0–S=439–S=50&kind=exact&offset=0&dwpdone=1
Be sure to click through to large PDFs of the actual ships manifest - too cool.

Finally, I am very interested in the DNA side of genealogy. If there are any male Agosti's who are interested in a Y-DNA search, I would be happy to send more information.

Ciao
