Hi there
Pedro Jose Agostini Feliciano was my great-grandfather.He was born in Mayaguez and was called Perrucio (little pietro or little pedro in Corsican). His father was Pedro Maria Agostini of Mayaguez (30 years of age at Pedro Jose's birth) and his mother was Maria Jesus Feliciano also of MayaguezPedro Jose Agostini was a capenter by trade but my father (who spent time with him told me Pedro Jose also taught carpentry at the local high school).Pedro Jose was married twice and had four surviving children in each of his two marriages ( for a total of eight children)Two of these children are still alive, one of them another Pedro. My grandfather was also named Pedro Jose after his father. One of my cousins was also named Pedro Jose inhonor of Don Perrucio and my grandfather..I don;t know anything about Pedro Maria. I think my uncle Pedro M. Agostini was named after him .I forget what his middle initial is for--I think Montseratte, which is a form of Maria. Most of these were born in the las Marias area of Mayaguez, so they may very well be related to Miguel Agostini,
I might mention that in Centuri there was a Pietro Maria Agostini (around the 1820s)He is probably related somehow to the Pedro Maria who was the father of Pedro Jose Agostini Feliciano.
More than likely than Agostini s listed as being from Corsica probably were cousins or relations of some kind of the Agostini s already in PR.Corsicans started to go to PR in the early 1800s.These Corsicans started the coffee industry in PR around the Yauco area and many of them settled in the Mayaguez and San German areas as well. This success probably encouraged other Corsicans to migrate to PR>By the 1870s there had been around two generations of PR born Corsicans. Therefore, they would not have been listed in the book of Extranjeros.
Someone by the name of Maldonado did a nice summary of the Agostini s mentioned in the list of Extranjeros. For the life of me I don;t know what i did with his summary.I was just looking at it a few nights ago.
By the way, what is your interset in the Agostini family?By the way what is yor interest in the Agostini family of PR?RegardsHector Agostini
