MANY ATTENDED FUNERAL
The Friends Gathered at the Obsequies of Christian Ahlgrimm Tuesday.
One of the largest funerals ever seen in Buena Vista was that of the late Christian Ahlgrimm, which took place on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence of his son, Ernest. Friends from the city, and surrounding county were present in large numbers, and the floral offerings were unusually numerous. Rev. C. F. Prottengeir, pastor of St. Paul's Evangelical church, this city, was the officiating clergyman, and the interment took place in the family burial plot at Brady Hill. A son, John Ahlgrimm, of Detroit, was present at the ceremonies.

SLEPT QUIETLY AWAY
After Long and Useful Life, Christian Ahlgrimm Passed Away on Sunday.
Having long since passed the three-score-and-ten years allotted to man, Christian Ahlgrimm entered into his last sleep on Sunday morning, death being due to extreme old age, and occurring at the home of his son, Ernest, Buena Vista. Deceased was born April 9, 1815, at Mecklenburg-Schwerin, and came to Saginaw county in 1870, continuing to reside here since, a respected and well known citizen, who had a very large number of friends. He is survived by two sons, Ernest, at whose home he died, Wilhelm, of Detroit, and two daughters, Mrs. John Hawick of this city, and Mrs. Elizabeth Keller of Beuna Vista. There are also surviving 26 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence. Rev. C. F. Prottengeir officiating. Deceased will be laid to rest at Brady Hill, by the side of his wife who died some years ago.

No headstone was found for Christian nor his wife "unknown" in Brady Hill cemetery.

The daughter Elizabeth Keller was Fredericka and the other daughter Mrs. John Hawick was Louisa. I have no info on the son Wilhelm John Ahlgrim who lived Detroit, Wayne Co., Michigan.
