I am beginning to believe that there are two different families...lived near each other in what is now Germany--near Hannover...that we are talking about here. May have been same in earlier generations but have seperated. After reaching US some of the Ahlschwedes and maybe some of the Ahlswedes changed the spelling to Alswede or similar.....
