Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
Lieber Hans: Ja, ich verstehe Deutsch, obwohl ich Amerikanerin bin. Aber ich schreibe jetz auf English, damit alle mich verstehen koennen. I am most interested in all your Ahlschwedes (it really doesn't make any difference how you spell it; I'm sure it was spelled more correctly, i. e., in the uniform way, in Germany than in the US). I am a descendant of Friedericke Ahlschwede, who, with her parents and siblings, came from Hagen, in Niedersachsen. Some sources say Hagen, Hannover. Another source says Ottenstein, Niedersachsen, Hannover. How are "we" connected with the Karl Ludwig you wrote about? I REALLY want to know. Are you familiar with the Diary of an Ahlschwede begun in 1808?
I am also communicating with an Ahlschwede who is from Germany but lives in Wien. Where is Kierde, where you are from?
