Gus and Barbara (Hofen)Ahrens were married in Clark Co., Mo. on 7-17-1874. Their daughter, Katie Isabelle Ahrens was born in Clark Co., Mo on 12-23-1875. She married Charles Henry Bond in Clark Co., Mo. on 7-6-1897. According to my Dad and Granpa Bond, in 1907, Granpa and Granma, (Charley and Katie) and all thier kids and Katie's Mom and Dad, my great granpa and granma Ahrens, got in 2 covered wagons and came to Oklahoma which at that time was not even a state. They went to the Cherokee Strip and homesteaded 2 quarter sections for about a year. At that time, Granpa Bond traded those 2 sections for 2 more covered wagons and my great granparents, Gus and Barbara Ahrens went to Arkansas. They either went to Mammoth Springs or Eureka Springs and that is where they died. Granpa and Granma Bond and thier kids went back to Clark Co., Missouri for while and then came back to Oklahoma. They died in Bartlesville, Ok.
