Hello Jackie,
This is totally unexpected. Does this make your husband and I cousins twice-removed?

Has I.P.(fellow on-line geneoligist) posted you information re births, marriages and deaths dating back to Christian and Minna? This is the information that I lost and need to retrieve.
Other than that all I know is that there was a split. It is very difficult for my father to talk about events. I grew up with fairly regular contact with Ethel, Violet, Alice and their children and will be able to provide information on all.

The German origins at present are unknown. I do remember Ethel refering to Hamburg and ?Helgoland and the Kaiser. I don't know where she got this information from and it is probably very unreliable. In 2000 I visited Ahrens family in Truro and they related something similar but there did not appear to be any connection to our line. Where to go from here?

I think that Albert died when grandpa George was about 3 yrs. old and that his widow re-married.

Did your husband remain in contact with any of the extended family? Would love to understand more. I,in the meantime, will talk with my father.

I am on holiday (in Thailand-that part of the world must be in my genes)from tomorrow. I will post you names and dates of Albert's descendants as soon as poss.on my return. I hope that this is what you need. I would really appreciate any information that I.P. posted you and anything else. I am a little embarrassed to admit my mistake re lost data.

Hope to hear any news soon. Liz
