Do you have any idea where this family may have settled? My great grandfather was Henry Ahrens and would have been born in 1841-42. He lived in Menasha, WI - I believe the entire time he lived in the US. I have been unable to find any information as to when he came to the US from Germany nor any information on his parents or any brothers or sisters he may have had. He did have one son named William Ahrens who could possibly been named after Wilhelm and one son named Alexander Frederick William Ahrens. Possibly named after Frederika and Wilhelm??? I would be interested in any other information you may have on this family since I am pretty much at a standstill as far as tracing my paternal heritage.
