William Dale Ahrens formerly of Rolling Meadows Visitation for William Dale Ahrens, 79, of Oshkosh, Wis., will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, at Meadows Funeral Home, 3615 Kirchoff Road ( block east of Route 53), Rolling Meadows, where services will begin at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home, proceeding to St. Colette Church, for Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, Ill. Born Aug. 25, 1930, in Chicago, he died Thursday, June 3, 2010, at his home. Mr. Ahrens was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Marine Corps. He had worked as a printer, was a Rolling Meadows alderman from 1967 to 1979 and mayor from 1979 to 1990, and was a former member of the Rolling Meadows Chamber of Commerce, Rotary and the Clearbrook Foundation. He was the husband of the late Betty A.; father of Debra (Joseph) Stoltman, Linda (Paul) Posco, William (Laura), Pamela and Betty Ann Ahrens; grandfather of 14; great-grandfather of two; and brother of Richard (Carol) Ahrens and Carole (the late Louis) DiPinto. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society . For information, 847-253-0224.
