Betsy Aiken b 1781, m (1800) Currier Page, b 29 Mar 1781 at Wentworth, Grafton, NH. They had several children including Dolly, Solon, and George in Wentworth, then moved to Moira, Franklin, NY, where Betsy d 30 Sep 1838, Currier d 28 June 1840. Their younger children married and moved further west. Daughter Dolly m Jonathan Eames of Wentworth and remained there. They are my gggrandparents.
In researching Wentworth some 18 years ago, I copied pertinent pages from Hoyt's History of Wentworth, mainly for Pages and Eames. I recently joined Ancestry, which involved a review of past work as I filled in my Tree. When it came to Dolly's parents, I had no mother for her, but Ancestry gave me a "hint", Betsy Aiken, then another for Betsy's father, Nathaniel Aiken.
Back to the Wentworth History.... along with my Pages, I had incidentally captured John Aiken, a miller and millwright, who came to the town in 1775 "from Old Chester", and built Aikens Mills, a big asset for the town and its economy. Mentioned as living in one of his (John's)houses was "Mr. Colburn Aiken", and in another, "Ezekial Aiken who d. in 1776". Other Aikens mentioned were John Aiken Jr., who's child d. in 1787, Wid. Anna Aiken, and property owners Colburn-1837, Ezekial-1863, Milo-1870, and Mark L.-1870. This much just from the pages I had copied.
Can anyone tell me whether John belongs to the Londonderry Aikens, and how Betsy fits in? Any help will be appreciated.
