Just discovered that both Ichabod Aikins were Civil War Veterans. Ichabod Aikins enlisted 02 December, 1861 in the Union Army and served the state of Ohio, at the age of 35. co. G, 63rd Infantry Regiment and received a disability discharge on 14 Oct. 1862 in Camp Dennison, Oh.
The other Ichabod Aikins enlisted 23 March, 1865 at the age of 38. Company U, 63rd Infantry Regiment Ohio and was mustered out Company U,63rd Infantry on 15 May, 1865 in Hart's Island, NY Harbor, NY
Now I need to find out who my Ichabod's father was. It seems I was on the wrong track but will get back on, I hope. Ichabod and Sarah are my family and the other is Ichabod and Rosa Catherine.
