Andrea,
I'm afraid that 1922 is really far too recent for me to have any data! What you will need to do is to get your grandmother's birth certificate, from which you should be able to establish her parents' names and then to track back from there.
With luck your mother may know if there were any siblings, indeed the will of which you speak might well give details - if you can get a birth date for a first child you should be able to limit the amount of searching you'll need to do to find the date of her parents marriage - and when you have *that* you'll probably be able to find *her* grandfather's age and names - and then you'll be "on the map" so to speak!
Most of my research data runs up to 1881 only, since its not usually too hard to get back to there, but extremely difficult to work forward.
Chances are that once you establish a connection to an 1881 family, then I'll be able to link you to one's further back - but you'll need to do the donkey work first (or hire someone to do it for you!).
Mail me direct if you need any more help as to how to set about the search
