Hello everyone, I am seeking any information on the peterson family of menard county illinois. The line i am interested in is that of my grandfather Carl L. Peterson (B. march 6, 1902 in greenveiw village Il. D. march 14, 1984 in warren, Mi.). The 1910 menard county census lists his family in greenveiw, Il. in the following manner: Greenview Village 99/99 Peterson, Mins or Muns? head male age 47 married once married 10 yrs b. Sweden father b Sweden mother b Sweden coalminer Edla or Ella wife female age 28 married once married 10 yrs 4 children 4 children living b Sweden father b. Sweden mother b. Sweden Carl son male age 8 b. Il. father b. Sweden mother b. Sweden Julia M. dau female age 5 b.IL " " Edwin R. son male age3 b.Il. " " Rose dau female age 6/12 b.Il. " " The 1920 menard county census lists the family in athens illinois. In the 1920 census the name of the head of house appears to be Mons Peterson thus adding to the confusion in my research. I need to find out if my GGF's name was mins, muns, or mons. Also in the 1920 census My GGM Edla is not listed so i assume she died between 1910 and 1920. I have heard through my mother that carl and mons(?) were both coal miners. Carl was licensed at the age of 16 as a "short Fuser" or something like that. He used to drill holes in the mines and set explosives. My mother also informed me that Mons(?) had a sister they called aunt molly who supposedly lived and died in greenview. She had a husband named Albert. There was also mention of a brother of Mons(?) that went to Alaska as a gold miner. Any information that you have would be greatly apprecieated.
