Hildebrand, Grant E.
GRANT E. HILDEBRAND, 80, a Willow, Alaska resident, died June 24, 2003 at home. A celebration of his life was held with immediate family at Nancy Lake on June 28, 2003. A memorial graveside service will be held later in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Mr. Hildebrand was born October 28, 1922, in El Reno, Oklahoma. He graduated from El Reno High School in 1939 and attended the University of Oklahoma. He first moved to Alaska In WWII, to serve as a civilian transport specialist expediting military cargo on Adak, Alaska. He returned to Oklahoma where he married Bobbie Gene Stephens on June 21, 1945. For the next years he worked as a manager for coach and air lines in Oklahoma, Washington and Missouri. Mr. Hildebrand returned to Alaska in 1959, where he worked for the Fairbanks News-Miner and then as a communication technician on the DEW Line, at Cleark, Alaska. He was active in organizing technical personnel into a Teamsters bargaining unit. He thereafter serves as a Teamster Business Agent, and in the political branch of the Teamsters until he returned
