Francis Hicks born March 9, 1858 Ireland died May 16, 1904 when his ship sank returning from Alaska or the Yukon - I would imagine to Vancouver, Seattle or California. He was to return to Canada....he had gone to pan for gold with his brothers George Richard Hicks (who later settled in San Bernardino, California and died in 1948) and Alexander McLaughlin Hicks (my grandfather) who returned to Ontario, Canada around 1902. Francis was to settle up their goldmine etc., and return, but his ship sank. Have no idea where or what ship. The family did record his date of death in the family bible, but no record has been found of how only stories of his ship sinking. Would appreciate any help anyone could give.
